Heroic Raider is a Collectible Card Game, with a target audience of males aged 13 to 28. The theme of the game is based on famous people throughout history, and they are transformed into the game’s characters. The game has a traditional card game battle style that has a similar approach to the popular mobile games such as Idle Heroes and Clash of Clan Royale.
The design approach of the game uses two different visual strategies for the characters and the background. The backgrounds are visualized with grungy battlefield illustrations to emphasis the ‘war’ or combative nature of the game. The characters are depicted in a manga style because the game is strongly related to fantasy world. The game is simple, interactive, and informative as players enter the game. The game shows a menu for the players to help learn the game as a first-timer. As well, there are indicators showing at the corner of each button to display what control need to be pressed to select them. The game allows players to play in a single player mode, as well as play an online versus mode (pvp). Also, there is a section called ‘Rank’ to allow players to keep track of their current position among the entire server and motivate them to improve.
